Hubby's Birthday

Today was Hubby's birthday,  so we went out for supper, we decided to do wings from Bubba Ray's, a sports pub here in Halifax, they have, I think 60 different flavors for their wings! One flavor, is called the death wing, it's so hot, they make you sign a waiver before you eat one, and they bring you only one... well, hubby tried it... holy cow! we are regular spicy food eaters, so he can usually handle a fair amount of heat, but wow, second after finishing the little fiery red chicken wing, I could see his face start to turn red and start to sweat! He said it took about 15 minutes before the burn subsided enough for him to be able to taste again. Brave man...

the rest of the wings that we tried were mighty tasty though we had honey garlic, sweet fire, Cajun and spicy mustard, all very good. Thursday they are on for 0.45$ each! can't go wrong with that!

After supper, we decided to venture down to Dairy Queen to see if they were still open and grab an ice cream cake to finish off the birthday celebrations. These are always good. No debate about that.

And now the night draws near the end for me, feeling pretty sleepy after all the wings and ice cream cake hahaha.

What am I doing right now you ask?

My current knitting project is a couch blanket for myself, it's a patch quilt style,  meaning lots of squares sewn together and then a border around the whole thing. the pattern is from this site :

www.spudandchloe.com/.../dream-catcher-baby-blanket-free-pattern/.

I am making some slight adjustments to the pattern to make it from a baby blanket to a couch blanket... bigger squares, more squares, a couple extra colors, etc.

It's going to be a bit of a time consuming project, but that's ok, it's something I can slowly pick at here and there, in between projects, etc.

This pattern is good practice for different pattern techniques, learning a lot of new  textures.

I have since finished this square, I greatly enjoy the basket stitch pattern, was pretty fast to knit also.

Now, I am onto a green one with a different stitch pattern, it's not as exciting.....  reminds me of grass in a late 80's ~ early 90's video game hahaha.

very first post!! wow...

Well, I figured I'd at least post something to indicate an active page...

What I hope to use this for is to be able to blog about stuff I do, my life, struggles, etc.

One of my favorite hobbies is knitting, I have been doing so all winter, this is one of the things I will be posting about, including pictures of projects I'm working on,  the trial and tribulations of teaching myself how to knit, patterns etc.

I am also a business owner, I own a tattoo and body piercing studio with my husband, we have both been working in the industry for 11 years, he is a tattoo artist and I am a body piercer, and I am also trained and certified in laser tattoo removal, which we provide as a service in our studio. I will be posting about daily studio life, what I do issues we deal with, photos of our work, etc.

I love painting and coloring, and I also design and make jewelry. I plan on posting about these hobbies as well, and posting photos of projects.

Last but not least, there will more than likely be random postings about weirdness, my cats, road trips, etc.

This photo here is of my first completed arm warmer, in my favorite colors... rainbow :D  I've yet to complete the second as I have been knitting for my mom and sister and niece. I have completed a cute cupcake hat for my niece,  some ankle warmers and matching Tam (slouchy beret) for mother, and a tam for my sister. I love knitting for others, but need to knit for myself. I have a few projects in mind, some socks, slippers, a cardigan, couch blanket, which is in the works,  I will be posting about that next, as my current project.
